Sweat, perspiration, or hair products may cause harm to leather as it breaks down the protective layer of the leather. In particular, it can cause color loss and crack and peeling of leather. This is most commonly seen on the back cushions around the head area and on the front of the arms where the hand rests. To minimize the risk of this happening in heavily used areas such as the arm rest and headrest, we advise that the cleaning instructions are regularly adhered to and leather protection creams are used.
All leather used in our upholstery has to meet the requirements of a European Standard but this will not prevent color loss when there is prolonged contact to sweat or hair products. Staining and color loss has always happened on leather and is the reason why old chesterfield sofas are seen with light and dark patches.

The inner structures of sofas and sectionals are made of ecologically certified solid wood - pine or oak. All sofas are made with hardwood frames and each corner assembly is glued, screwed and corner-blocked assembly required. The mechanisms for moving backs and seats are metal powder-coated and on the visible parts are chromed. All raw materials that are used for the realization of our sofas are produced according to European standards: the leather, wood, foam and feather padding as well as the thread used for the seams are all certified.
